A woman who was a fan of a right-wing livestreamer thought she was in for a fun night discussing Donald Trump and immigration with like-minded people.
Instead, it became a nightmare for her as the influencer allegedly forced himself upon her.
When the police questioned him, he had an unusual defense: Antifa got him intoxicated.
A MAGA livestreamer turns into a predator
Matt Tardio, a former Green Beret, is a right-wing livestreamer who had built up his online persona by broadcasting anti-ICE protests outside a Portland immigration facility back in 2025.
Among his regular audience was 21-year-old Natalie Bermudez. She was a fan of his livestreams and had made the journey to Oregon to meet with Tardio, where she would show her appreciation and discuss politics. He had other ideas for how their night should end.
According to police records obtained by The Bulwark, their encounter took a disturbing turn. Investigators noted that Tardio turned the conversation sexual and allegedly suggested they could become the MAGA movement’s “king and queen.”
Bermudez also told the police that Tardio’s eyes looked “crazy” and his skin was very white and unusually pale.
When Bermudez tried to shift the discussion back to politics, Tardio reportedly became aggressive. She told investigators he grabbed her and forced her down a dark alleyway before she managed to break free and escape.
Blaming the opposition
The entire incident near the facility was ironically captured on ICE surveillance cameras. Tardio later entered a plea deal in Portland court, pleading no contest to felony coercion and misdemeanor harassment. Court records indicate he agreed to probation and a $10,000 restitution payment.
When detectives questioned him about his disturbing behavior during the encounter, Tardio acknowledged he was impaired. However, he offered an unusual defense, pointing fingers at his political opponents.
Tardio claimed he accepted a joint as a “peace offer” from what he described as the far-left “Antifa” group that made him severely ill. “I got extremely, extremely sick. Deathly ill. Like, I don’t know if they swapped things or what they did or if they sprayed something on there,” he told police.
Law enforcement officials stated that no physical evidence supports his claim about a tampered joint or activist involvement. The online streaming personality has not made a public statement since the full details of his police interview surfaced. He is still live on his YouTube every day.
