A group of American medical professionals has publicly questioned Donald Trump’s physical and mental fitness to serve as president, arguing that recent public appearances and behavior raise serious concerns.
The statement, published in the British Medical Journal, has intensified debate around the health of political leaders in the United States ahead of another major election cycle.
Doctors’ warning
According to WP Wiadomości, 30 American doctors signed a statement describing Trump as a “clear and immediate threat” and calling for his removal from office.
The signatories reportedly include psychiatrists, neurologists, and psychologists who cited what they described as possible signs of cognitive decline.
Among the concerns listed were abrupt topic changes during speeches, confusion over names, contradictory remarks, and episodes of visible fatigue during public appearances.
The article also referenced a moment during an Oval Office address when critics claimed Trump appeared to fall asleep, though the White House dismissed the incident as simply a “blink.”
Mental health debate
The medical professionals also raised concerns about what they described as impulsive behavior and inflammatory rhetoric linked to international affairs.
According to the report, the statement referred to “megalomaniacal and delusional beliefs,” including controversy surrounding an AI-generated image depicting Trump as Jesus that was later removed from social media.
The doctors acknowledged the ethical limitations surrounding remote psychiatric evaluations, citing the Goldwater Rule, which discourages diagnoses without direct examination.
However, they argued that public behavior alone could still justify broader medical concern and further clinical assessment.
Physical concerns
The statement also questioned Trump’s physical condition, pointing to photographs showing bruising on his DDas well as reports about his walking posture and balance.
