A light-hearted viral moment involving Prince Harry has led to an unexpected exchange between Meghan Markle and a well-known British television presenter.
The interaction followed a comedy clip that quickly spread online, surprising royal watchers on both sides of the Atlantic.

According to the Daily Express, Prince Harry made a surprise appearance last week on The Late Show with host Stephen Colbert.
Alongside the interview, Harry and Colbert filmed a lip-sync video using audio taken from a 2024 exchange on The Great British Bake Off New Year’s Day special.
The original clip featured presenter Alison Hammond and Irish contestant Mark Lutton, during a moment where Hammond misheard Lutton while he joked about what he would ask of her if he were King for a day.
Harry and Colbert reenacted the exchange, and the video quickly went viral online.

According to the Express, the clip was later shared on Instagram by Meghan Markle, who tagged Alison Hammond in the post.
That tag led to a brief direct message exchange between the Duchess of Sussex and the TV presenter, which Hammond later revealed publicly.
Alison said she messaged Meghan saying: “I love this.” She added that Meghan replied with a heart emoji.
On-air reaction
Hammond spoke about the interaction on Loose Women on Thursday, explaining how she approached the message.
She said: “I said, ‘I love this’. I thought I’d keep it cool. Not too much. I didn’t want to beg it.”
The presenter, who regularly hosts This Morning, went on to joke about the exchange, suggesting it meant she was now on friendly terms with the Duchess, reports the Express.
Light-hearted remarks
During the discussion, Alison joked that she could help reunite Meghan and Harry with Prince William and Princess Catherine, amid ongoing speculation about strained family relations.
While Hammond has previously met the Prince and Princess of Wales through her work, it is not believed she has ever met Meghan in person.
Meghan Markle, who stepped back from royal duties with Prince Harry in 2020, has not publicly commented on the exchange.
