A recent Russian missile attack on Odesa has resulted in the death of 14 individuals, including a paramedic and a State Emergency Service employee who were responding to the initial explosion.
46 people sustained injuries in the strike, with seven of those being rescuers.
Oleg Kiper, the head of Odesa's Regional Military Administration, stated, "unfortunately, as a result of the Russian missile attack, a paramedic and an employee of the State Emergency Service, who came to render aid at the scene after the first explosion, were killed."
The attack has left several medics and rescuers with serious injuries, and efforts are underway to confirm the total number of casualties.
Kiper assured that all victims are receiving the necessary medical attention.
Further updates from the Prosecutor General's Office indicated an initial death toll of 8, with preliminary figures showing 20 individuals injured, including five State Emergency Service employees.
The attack also caused considerable damage to infrastructure, including 10 private residences, a service station, a low-pressure gas pipeline, and two fire-rescue vehicles.
Emergency crews are currently addressing a gas pipeline fire and a private home blaze, covering an area of approximately 120 square meters.
By 2:11 p.m., Kiper updated the casualty figures to 14 fatalities, including local residents, a medic, and a rescue worker, and 46 injuries, with seven involving State Emergency Service personnel.
On the afternoon of March 15, Odesa came under a rocket attack by the Russian Federation, and there are casualties among the civilian population.
