Morning of Terror: Russia's Widespread Attacks Leave Multiple Ukrainian Cities in Turmoil

In a significant escalation of hostilities, Russia launched a massive attack across Ukraine, with explosions reported in Kyiv, Lviv, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Odesa, Kharkiv, and Khmelnytskyi region.

The offensive, confirmed by Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko and local military administrations, has resulted in at least nine fatalities and numerous injuries.

Early reports from Kyiv indicate intensive air defense activity, with residents urged to seek shelter. The capital experienced multiple waves of attacks, leading to structural damage, including a fire in a residential building and the Lukianivska metro station. Tragically, three people are reported trapped under the rubble of a warehouse in Kyiv's Shevchenkivskyi district, with the death toll and injury count in the city rising.

Dnipro faced similar devastation with a shopping center set ablaze and casualties reported. In the Dnipropetrovsk region, four fatalities have been confirmed as of 9:45 a.m.

Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi detailed damages to residential buildings, educational institutions, and a fire in a lyceum, citing fatalities and injuries. Odesa also faced severe impacts, with a high-rise fire and casualties, including children.

Air Force Colonel Yurii Ihnat described the strikes as employing a range of air attack methods, including Kinzhals, ballistic missiles, S-300s, cruise missiles, Shaheds, and Kh-22/32 missiles, launched by about 18 Tu-95 strategic bombers.

Authorities continue to assess the full extent of the destruction and casualties as the nation reels from this extensive assault.
