In a shocking incident of road rage, Linda Schofield, a 57-year-old mother of two, was punched in the back by an irate driver in a Lidl car park in Camberley, Surrey.

The altercation began when Schofield overtook a Ford Fiesta on a dual carriageway after leaving a nearby Sainsbury's.

According to Daily Mail, the driver, believing Schofield had almost caused a crash, followed her for five minutes to the Lidl car park, where he confronted her in front of other shoppers.

The driver, captured in a video, can be heard threatening to punch Schofield in the face before allegedly striking her twice in the back. Witnesses shouted to get his number plate as the driver sped off.

Schofield, a farm shop worker, expressed her shock and intimidation, fearing for her safety and the possibility of encountering the driver again.

Hampshire Police are investigating the incident, which occurred on October 25, and are appealing for information from the public. Schofield, who reported the incident to the police, believes the driver should be prosecuted to prevent further attacks.

Lidl confirmed that their Blackwater store staff provided support to Schofield following the incident and stated they would continue to assist the authorities.
