In a significant development in the Belarus-Russia military alliance, Alexander Lukashenko, President of Belarus, announced that Belarus has received all the Russian nuclear weapons that were planned to be supplied by the Russian Federation.

This announcement, as reported by European Pravda citing Lukashenko's press service, marks a critical juncture in the region's security dynamics.

Lukashenko, in his statement, mentioned that the delivery of these nuclear arms was completed some time ago. "It's been a long time.

I already said when the delivery ended. Back in September, I think, or in October. At the beginning of October, the last. Everything is in its place and in good condition," he stated. This confirmation came during his response to a query about the scheduling of upcoming military exercises.

Moreover, Lukashenko also highlighted ongoing military training activities in Belarus, noting the involvement of former Wagner mercenaries. These individuals, according to Lukashenko, are currently integrated within Belarusian military units, contributing their expertise and experience.

The background to this development can be traced back to 25 May, when the defense ministers of Russia and Belarus signed documents concerning the deployment of tactical nuclear weapons on Belarusian territory.

'In the following month, Russian President Vladimir Putin had indicated that some of Russia's nuclear weapons were already positioned in Belarus.

The move to deploy Russian nuclear weapons in Belarus has been a subject of international concern, especially given the increasing tensions in Eastern Europe.

At the end of June, Lukashenko had directed the formulation of an "algorithm for the use" of these nuclear weapons, further intensifying the security discourse around Belarus and Russia's military collaboration.

This latest announcement is expected to have significant implications for the regional security environment, potentially altering the strategic balance and prompting responses from neighboring countries and international bodies.
