California Governor Gavin Newsom has increasingly turned to parody and sharp-edged satire on social media.
He has often directed his humour at President Donald Trump and that has caused speculation to grow, that Newsom may explore a 2028 presidential bid.
His online persona has taken on a more satirical tone, and his latest jab continues that trend.
Health memo under fire
The White House released a note from Trump’s physician, Captain Sean Barbabella, declaring the president’s MRI “perfectly normal.”
Barbabella wrote that the scan was routine for someone of Trump’s age and that it was not prompted by any urgent medical issue.

He stated that “everything evaluated is functioning within normal limits with no acute or chronic concerns.”
The memo followed persistent questions from Democrats, including Governor Tim Walz, about Trump’s “mental capacity” during his current term in office.
Newsom strikes back
Newsom quickly weighed in On X (former twitter) as he posted a mock medical evaluation signed by “Dr. Dolittle.”
He the post he joked and said that he was “the healthiest human currently alive or recorded in medical history.”
The parody claimed his arteries were so “shimmering” that an EKG machine supposedly asked if he was “meditating or just naturally enlightened.”

He added that his bone density was so strong “a radiologist briefly wondered if we’d scanned a redwood.”
Targeting Trump directly
Newsom’s memo then drew pointed contrasts with Trump’s public image.
It said:
“We’ll simply note that Governor Newsom completes full workdays without falling asleep in meetings, does not require ‘executive time’ to lie down and watch TV during work hours, and is able to stand upright without looking like the leaning Tower of Pisa.”
Users responded enthusiastically. “I can’t stop laughing,” one wrote, while another added: “God damn I love this account!”
