Over 400,000 Russian Soldiers Deployed in Ukraine, According to Ukrainian Defence Intelligence

In a recent development on the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, the Ukrainian Defence Intelligence has reported a significant concentration of Russian military forces within the Ukrainian territory.

Andrii Yusov, a spokesperson for the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, disclosed this information during a broadcast on the Kyiv TV channel, and qouted by Radio Liberty

The report, dated Tuesday, 24 October 2023, reveals that more than 400,000 Russian soldiers have been stationed in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.

This massive influx of military personnel is seen as a demonstration of Russia’s continued aggressive stance in the region.

Yusov emphasized that the Russian forces currently in Ukraine have sufficient numbers to execute individual operations in specific front areas.

He also highlighted the presence of a substantial amount of Russian weaponry on Ukrainian soil, mentioning that new weapons are being reactivated and sent to the frontlines.

The representative of the Defence Intelligence pointed out that mobilization efforts in Russia have been ongoing throughout the summer, indicating a sustained military commitment to the conflict.

However, he also clarified that the situation is not a repetition of the events from February 2022, although he acknowledged that the enemy is likely to attempt separate offensive operations in various regions.

The international community has been closely monitoring the situation, with many expressing concern over the escalating tensions and the potential for further violence.

The concentration of such a large number of troops is a clear indication of the seriousness of the conflict, and it underscores the urgent need for diplomatic efforts to bring about a resolution.
