'Trump could be finished within the next two weeks'

Simon Rosenberg, the founder of the New Democrat Network think tank, has suggested that Trump's 2024 presidential aspirations might be in jeopardy.

This comes in light of a critical decision by the Colorado Supreme Court, which, if upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court, could see Trump struck off the ballot in Colorado.

The Colorado Supreme Court's decision, made on December 20, declared Trump ineligible to run in the state's primary.

The court cited Trump's alleged engagement in insurrection, a violation of the 14th Amendment.

The ruling, which is currently on hold until January 4 pending an appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court, has sparked a heated debate.

The Implications of the Ruling

Rosenberg, in his analysis, highlighted the gravity of the situation on X. "What's remarkable is that there is a non-zero chance the Supreme Court could rule with Colorado and Trump could be finished within the next two weeks," he stated.

This ruling, if upheld, could set a precedent affecting Trump's eligibility in other states, given the ongoing suits in over half of the U.S. states centered on the interpretation of Section Three of the 14th Amendment.

Trump's Campaign Response

Trump's campaign, led by spokesperson Steven Cheung, has vehemently opposed the Colorado court's decision.

Cheung criticized the ruling as a politically motivated move by an all-Democrat appointed court, aimed at interfering in the election to favor Joe Biden.

He emphasized the campaign's commitment to ensuring that Colorado voters have the right to vote for their preferred candidate.
