Samantha Woll, the president of Isaac Agree Downtown Synagogue in Detroit, was found fatally stabbed outside her home on Saturday morning.

According to AP, The Detroit Police Department is actively investigating the case, which has left the community in shock.

Police found Woll's body around 6:30 a.m. after receiving a call about an unresponsive person lying on the ground. Emergency medical personnel declared her dead at the scene.

A trail of blood led officers to her residence, where the crime is believed to have occurred.

Who was Samantha Woll?

Woll, 40, had been leading the synagogue since 2022. She was also a former aide to Democratic Rep. Elissa Slotkin and a campaign staffer for Attorney General Dana Nessel.

Both Slotkin and Nessel expressed their grief and shock over Woll's death on social media.

Detroit Police Chief James E. White stated that many questions remain unanswered and urged the public to be patient as the investigation continues.
