It is rare for the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, to offer praise to the West or acknowledge that Russia has been lagging behind.

However, in a recent interview, Putin made a concession, revealing that the West outplayed Russia in Ukraine after 2014.

This is a rare admission from Putin.

Western countries outplayed Russia in the situation in Ukraine after 2014.

According to Ura News, Russian leader Vladimir Putin made this statement at a meeting of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

He noted that the West took pleasure in observing the developments on the Ukrainian side.

"In this sense, if one may say so, they outplayed us," Putin declared.

The meeting was broadcast by the "Russia 24" TV channel.

The President believes that the West enjoyed watching the events unfold in Ukraine after 2014. Putin also pointed out that the aggressive posture of these countries prompted retaliatory actions.
