Putin Considered Not Running For Re-election.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has indicated that he considered not running for re-election, a decision that would have marked a significant shift in Russian politics.

This contemplation, as reported by UralDaily, was shared by Putin during a conversation with the Heroes of the Fatherland.

"At different times, I had different thoughts on this matter." Putin stated.

Thorough considerations of the current situation in Russia, however, ultimately made Putin feel confident that it would be best for the country if he continues.

"However, understanding the current situation, I came to the conclusion that it cannot be significantly different,"

This introspection reveals a side of Putin rarely seen in public - one of doubt and deliberation about his political future.

It was only last Friday that Putin officially announced his intention to run for re-election in the Russian presidential election, but it had long been an open secret that Putin would enter the race. A victory he is likely to secure, if the latest polls on Putin's popularity are to be believed.

According to the latest survey by the All-Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VTsIOM), 78.5% of the country's citizens expressed their trust in Russian President Vladimir Putin. His activities are approved by 75.8% of respondents.
