The presence of war in the world is deeply concerning, whether it's Russia-Ukraine, Israel-Hamas, or any other conflict between two or more nations.

However, the concern escalates when the possibility of nuclear weapons use is mentioned, as this could potentially wipe out large portions of humanity in the worst-case scenario.

Russia and its President Vladimir Putin have repeatedly threatened the use of nuclear weapons, and the threat seemed to intensify when Putin and Russia withdrew their ratification of a global nuclear treaty in November 2023.

Fortunately, some reassurance comes when the person who might fear a nuclear attack the most doesn't believe it will happen.

In an interview with French BFM TV, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky mentioned that he does not believe Putin would resort to using nuclear weapons.

“It is not serious to threaten a country with nuclear weapons or protected by the NATO nuclear umbrella,” he stated.

Conversely, Zelensky is not as confident that Putin wouldn't consider attacking a NATO country 'on foot.'

"The fact that it can undertake a land operation against a NATO country is possible," Zelensky says.

He is particularly concerned about the Baltic countries and Moldova as potential targets for Putin in the future.

"I consider that you have to be really sick"

In the same interview, Zelensky asserts that Putin has left 'The real world' and one must be profoundly ill to launch a missile that came so close to hitting Zelensky and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, as was the case recently.

"When you strike with a cruise missile a few hundred meters next to a European leader, I consider that you have to be really sick,”.
