Despite the absence of an air raid alert in Kyiv, there are reports of at least one explosion in or very close to the capital city.
At present, there is scant information available, but according to both Polish media and social media, there are reports of explosions in or near Kyiv.
The reputable and widely followed Flash News Ukraine profile on X posted about 20 minutes ago, stating, “An explosion was heard in Kyiv, according to subscribers. We are waiting for official information.”

Since then, no further details have emerged, but Ukrainian journalist Margo Gontar briefly wrote on her X profile, “Explosion Kyiv.”
Shortly after, she updated with the following statement: “All I can say at the moment is that if there’s no air raid alert, it could be something that hits before it’s detected, like ballistic missiles. Or something else.”
