Russia is working on developing a new mobile missile complex of strategic importance, intended to replace the "Yars" missile complex.

This was stated by the Commander of the Strategic Missile Forces, Colonel General Sergey Karakaev according to Ura News.

"Yes, they are being developed. In addition, research and development work is being conducted to justify the technical appearance and ways of creating a mobile-based missile complex, which in the future could replace the 'Yars' missile complex," Karakaev noted in an interview with the newspaper 'Krasnaya Zvezda', responding to a question about the development of the complex.

He also stated that the "Yars" complex has completely re-equipped the mobile grouping of the Strategic Missile Forces (RVSN).

Karakaev highlighted that the share of modern missile complexes in the RVSN has reached 88%.

In 2023 alone, about 80 new samples of weapons and military equipment of the missile forces were delivered.

In May 2023, Russia conducted tests of the multifunctional missile complex "Hermes," as reported by 'Tsargrad'. It had to be modified 'on the fly', as Russia's invasion in Ukraine revealed new tasks for such complexes.
