Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov has issued a stern warning to the United States, stating that Russia is prepared to cut diplomatic ties if the U.S. decides to seize Russian assets or continues to escalate military activities in Ukraine.

In an interview with Interfax, Ryabkov emphasized Russia's readiness for any scenario, dispelling any notion that Russia is desperately holding onto its diplomatic relationship with the U.S.

Ryabkov clarified that Russia does not plan to initiate the severance of diplomatic relations. He acknowledged the significant role both countries play in maintaining international security and strategic stability.

However, he indicated that it would not be surprising if the U.S. either reduced its diplomatic presence in Russia or completely severed ties, given that the U.S. has doctrinally expressed its intent to strategically defeat Russia.

Describing the current state of Russian-American relations as "comatose," Ryabkov pointed out that this fragile balance could be easily disrupted by what he termed as Washington's recklessness.

Commenting on the same issue, Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov warned against the potential confiscation of Russian assets. Peskov argued that such actions would pose a danger to the global financial system. He asserted that Russia would not let such actions pass without a response, promising that those responsible would not be left in peace and that Russia would retaliate accordingly.
