Health officials have issued an urgent warning over several supermarket items that may pose a contamination risk. The alert affects products sold across major US retailers, prompting action from authorities.

Consumers are being advised to check their purchases carefully and avoid using affected goods.

Contamination warning

According to The Express, five products sold at Aldi have been recalled following a public health alert issued on April 30 by the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).

The agency said the items may contain dry milk powder potentially contaminated with salmonella.

The issue was identified after FSIS learned that “multiple establishments received ingredients formulated with dry milk powder that had been recalled.”

A day later, on May 1, the alert was expanded to include additional frozen pizzas distributed nationwide.

Affected items

The recall includes a range of frozen foods and snack products.

Among them are Mama Cozzi’s breakfast pizzas in different varieties, Culinary Circle chicken bacon ranch pizza, and Pork King Good sour cream and onion pork rinds in both standard and party sizes.

The products were sold in supermarket freezer sections and snack aisles, including Aldi and Walmart locations.

Officials noted that as the recall continues, more products could be identified.

Health advice

So far, no illnesses or adverse reactions have been reported in connection with the affected items.

However, authorities stress that consumers should not eat the products under any circumstances, even if they are fully cooked.

Shoppers are advised to discard the items or return them to stores for a refund.

Anyone who has consumed the products and experiences symptoms linked to salmonella is urged to contact a healthcare provider.

Ongoing checks

The FSIS continues to monitor the situation as part of a wider food safety response.

The recall highlights the risks associated with contaminated ingredients entering supply chains and affecting multiple brands.

Further updates are expected as investigations continue and additional products are traced.
