A student from Lille in France won a historic jackpot at the blackjack table of the Lille casino, the largest since the launch of the "progressive" option at this establishment.

By investing the price of three happy hour beers, a student from Lille won a "historic jackpot" at the Lille casino. Leaving with his pockets heavy with 71.000 euros ($76.500), the young man has plenty to enjoy for the end-of-year festivities.

This is reported by 20Minutes.fr.

While gambling carries risks, it also sometimes holds pleasant surprises.

On the night from Thursday to Friday, at the gaming tables of the Barrière Casino in Lille, many bettors sought luck without finding it, as it decided to squat the karma of a group of students on a night out. The friends had decided to see if the grass was greener at the blackjack table rather than with the 20-cent slot machines.

Wins More Than 4,000 Times His Stake

The small group seated at the table was betting ten euros per hand and adding five on the "progressive jackpot" option. The option can be interesting since in the case of blackjack, the bettor logically wins one and a half times their stake and scoops a pot funded with a portion of the players' bets.

It was around 11:30 pm when luck smiled on the students, giving them a blackjack that knocked the dealer K.-O. At that moment, the progressive jackpot pot was at 71,231 euros, a nice jackpot representing more than 4,000 times the stake.

However, the story does not tell how much the team lost before breaking the bank, but the casino assures that the bettor was "visibly delighted."
