That passenger has been identified as Vishwashkumar Ramesh. He is a British national. He’s currently in hospital and being treated for his injuries.
Indian media spoke to Vishwash directly. He shared his boarding pass with them. It clearly showed his name and his seat number.
From his hospital bed, he said the crash happened fast. “Thirty seconds after take-off, there was a loud noise and then the plane crashed. It all happened so quickly,” he told reporters.
Officials have not yet confirmed how many people were on board. The crash site is being secured, and investigations have begun.
US to Investigate Plane Crash
The plane was made in the United States by Boeing. That has brought American investigators into the picture.
The U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has announced it will send a team to India.
In a post on X, the NTSB said it will be leading the American side of the investigation.
India will work with them and share all relevant data. That follows international air safety rules set by the United Nations.
The crash is being treated as a major incident. Emergency teams were sent to the scene quickly. The cause of the crash is still unknown.
Right now, authorities are focused on rescue, recovery, and finding out what went wrong. The investigation will likely take time.
