In a disturbing case from the Pskov region of Russia, a 34-year-old woman has been arrested, suspected of killing her three children.
According to Russian media Lenta.ru, this shocking incident was confirmed by the regional office of the Investigative Committee of Russia (ICR), which has now initiated a criminal case against the woman.
The tragic events came to light on November 23, when law enforcement agencies discovered the bodies of three minors in an apartment in the city of Velikiye Luki, and in a private house.
The children, an eight-year-old girl and two boys born in 2019 and 2023, were all the offspring of the now-detained woman.
The woman, whose identity has not been disclosed, is charged under Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. She is currently in custody while a decision is being made regarding the preventive measure to be taken against her.
An additional disturbing detail in this case comes from the Telegram channel "Shot," which reports that the woman committed the crimes as early as August and lived for three months alongside the bodies of her children. The Telegram channel "112" adds that the woman also has two other children who have been living with their grandmother for a long time.
This tragedy has caused deep consternation in the local community and raises questions about family well-being and the effectiveness of the social support system in Russia. As the case continues, the exact circumstances surrounding the children's deaths and the woman's motives remain unclear.
