A man in his 40s from the Bristol area has tragically lost his life after suffering a medical episode at Splashdown Quaywest in Paignton, Devon. According to LadBible, The incident led to the immediate closure of the park for the day.

Emergency services were summoned to the water park on August 23, following a medical incident involving the man. Despite the best efforts of the paramedics, off-duty nurses, and Splashdown staff, the man later died.

Two double-crewed land ambulances, an air ambulance, and an operations officer were dispatched to the scene, and the patient was taken to Torbay Hospital.

Water Park's Reaction

Splashdown Quaywest informed customers of the decision to close the park at approximately 12:15 pm, emphasizing the seriousness of the situation and the need to prioritize the individual's safety and well-being.

The water park later confirmed the man's death on its website, expressing deep condolences to the family and thanking the staff and off-duty nurses for their prompt actions.

Alan Richmond, Managing Director, was present at the site when the incident occurred. He expressed sorrow for the loss and commended the staff and emergency responders for their efforts.

He reassured visitors that the incident was a medical episode unrelated to the water park's operation and occurred out of the water.

Following consultation with the relevant authorities, who were satisfied that no further investigation was necessary on the part of the water park, Splashdown Quaywest was able to reopen the next day.
