Donald Trump is furious. On Monday, he was summoned to court in New York, accused of lying to tax authorities, lenders, and banks about the size of his fortune for years.

Before appearing in court, he was interviewed on live television, where he was far from satisfied.

"This is a continuation of the biggest witch hunt ever," said the former U.S. President Donald Trump. He also added that he believes the lawsuit against him is "simply about election interference."

The case revolves around Trump's wealth, which the prosecutor believes he has lied about. Specifically, Chief Prosecutor Letitia James believes that Trump has exaggerated his fortune by $3.6 billion.

According to her, she has a mountain of evidence to prove it. The alleged motive behind the lies was to secure favorable terms for loans and insurances.

Trump's lawyers are seeking to have the entire case dismissed, claiming that Trump is undoubtedly worth billions of dollars.

"There were no victims. The banks did well," Trump said in a lengthy tirade as he arrived at the court and was met by a large press corps.

"We have a good business. I built a good business. My accounts are phenomenal," he continued, denying any wrongdoing.

The case is separate from four other lawsuits where Trump is accused of trying to change the outcome of the 2020 presidential election, which he lost to Democrat Joe Biden.

Trump has pleaded not guilty in all four cases.

Letitia James is challenging the valuations of Trump's properties, including the Mar-a-Lago complex in Florida and his triplex penthouse in Trump Tower in Manhattan.
