Trump questions GOP's inaction on 25th amendment against Biden.

Former President Donald Trump recently expressed his bewilderment over why the Republican Party has not initiated proceedings to remove President Joe Biden under the 25th Amendment.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump listed a series of issues, including the situation in Afghanistan, inflation, and border security, as reasons for questioning Biden's competency.

Trump emphasized that if the roles were reversed, the Democrats would have already initiated the process to remove him from office.

"Why hasn't the Republican Party begun the process of invoking the 25th Amendment against the worst and most incompetent President in the history of the United States, Crooked Joe Biden?" Trump wrote on Truth Social.

However, it's worth noting that Republicans do not have the authority to invoke the 25th Amendment, which allows for the removal of a sitting president if they are deemed unable to perform their duties. This power lies with the Vice President and the Cabinet.

During Trump's tenure, Democrats had frequently discussed the possibility of invoking the 25th Amendment, especially after the January 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol. At that time, House Judiciary Committee Democrats had even sent a letter to then-Vice President Mike Pence, urging him to consider invoking the amendment, which he declined.

Last week, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy announced that he had directed committees to open an impeachment inquiry into Biden over his family's business activities. The move has been met with skepticism from Democrats, who point out that ongoing investigations have yet to produce any evidence implicating Biden in any wrongdoing.
