A 30 minutes interview with Reuters had the U.S. President, Donald Trump, give his view on a number of different topics.
Unsurprisingly, the diplomati crisis between the U.S., Denmark and Greenland over Trump’s desire to “take” Greenland was one of them, with the president dismissing recent Reuters/Ipsos polls as “fake”.
The polls show that only 17% of all adult Americans are in favor of the U.S.’s push for Greenland.
But the interview also got around the war in Ukraine, which is soon to enter its fifth year.
In late 2025, a new push for peace, or at least af ceasefire, in Ukraine had diplomats working overtime in an attempt to reach a deal on how to end the fighting.

Trump blames Zelenskiy
Where most of the Western world blames the Kremlin for the lack of progress, as the Russians are standing firm on a number of demands (which has been deemed unacceptable by Ukraine).
But when asked by the Reuters reporter, Trump did not blame the Russian leader, Vladimir Putin. He blamed the Ukrainian leader, Volodomyr Zelenskiy.
“I think he’s ready to make a deal,” Trump said of the Russian president. “I think Ukraine is less ready to make a deal.”
He added: “We have to get President Zelenskiy to go along with it.”

The war drags on
Ever since Russia launched the full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, the war has transitioned into a war of attrition following quick initial Russian gains.
According to numbers from Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense, Russia has lost more than 1,223,000 personnel during the war with 1150 people in just the last 24 hours.
