Everyone’s waiting for Thursday
Allegedely Ukranian President Volodomyr Zelenskyy will be in Istanbul, Turkey, on Thursday, hoping to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin face to face for the first time since the Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

It is still not known whether Putin will actually travel to Turkey, but if he does, he might be faced with two heads of state: Zelenskyy and American President, Donald Trump.
Teasing appearance
In a surprise move Monday, Donald Trump offered to join the Russia-Ukraine talks, according to Reuters. “There’s a possibility of it, I guess, if I think things can happen, but we’ve got to get it done,” the President said.
Will be in the area
Trump made the statement just before departing for a trip to the Middle East, his second foregin trip. He’s scheduled to visit several countries in the area, with Saudi Arabia being the first stop.
“Don’t underestimate Thursday”
Trump said that he has many meetings, but was thinking about flying to Istanbul, adding that observers shouldn’t “underestimate Thursday in Turkey”.
Uncertainty remains
During the weekend, Zelenskyy issued the challenge to Putin about meeting face to face in Istanbul. The Russian President is yeat to give a formal response. Experts doubt that the Russian President will make an appearance.
