US President Donald Trump expressed deep dissatisfaction with a recent call to Russian President Vladimir Putin, citing a lack of progress on ending the war in Ukraine.
Speaking aboard Air Force One, Trump told reporters he was “very unhappy” with the conversation, describing Putin as determined to continue the violence.
“He’ll Keep Killing People”
According to AFP, Trump didn’t mince words when recounting his exchange with Putin.
“He wants to go all the way, keep killing people, which isn’t good,” he said.
New Sanctions Against Russia on the Table
Though Trump had avoided imposing new sanctions on Russia for six months in an effort to foster dialogue, he now hinted that tougher measures could be looming.
“We talk a lot about sanctions,” Trump said of his talks with Putin. “He knows what might be coming.”

Trump also revealed he held a “very strategic conversation” with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The call, which took place Friday, came as Ukraine voiced growing concerns about the flow of US military aid.
