A lot happened over the weekend.
During the night between Friday and Saturday U,.S,-time, the U.S. Military launched an operation against Venezuela, taking the Venezuelan leader, Nicolás Maduro, prisoner.
After that, U.S. President Donald Trump once again threatened the Colombian leader, Gustavo Petro, saying that Colombia is “run by a sick man”, adding that the POTUS thinks a military operation in Colombia sounds “good to me”.
But not everything has had to do with Latin America. On Saturday, Podcaster and Former Advisor to the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) posted a picture on X with Greenland being painted as an American flag.

Married to Security Advisor
It is definetly not the first time, Social Media-users have posted pictures like the one from Katie Miller, but in this case, the source is worth noting.
Katie Miller is married to Stephen Miller, United States Homeland Security Advisor, and given the timing of the post (the same day as the U.S. operation in Venezuela), fears of a possible U.S. military operation in Greenland are flaring once again.
Speaking to reporters on board the Air Force One, Trump said that he did not want to talk about Greenland when asked by a reporter, if the POTUS was expecting to “take action” against Greeland.

Former ambassador: Would end the World Order, as we know it
Former U.S. Ambassador in Denmark, Rufus Gifford, tells danish outlet TV 2, that the post from Katie Miller and the quotes from Donald Trump shopuld be taken very seriously.
“People need to understand that if they (the Trump Administration) do what they say they will do to Greenland, it would end the World Order, as we know it,” he told the outlet.
The former ambassador then urged the rest of the West to clearly state that such talk will not be tolerated.
Trump: U.S. “needs” Greenland
Donald Trump has repeatedly voiced his desire to annex Greenland, which is part of the Kingdom of Denmark, stating that it is a matter of national security.

Just before Christmas, Trump named the Republican Governor of Louisiana, Jeff Landry, a “special envoy to Greenland”, and during the most recent weekend, Trump has once again said that the U,S. needs Greeland “from the standpoint of national security”.
