Jake and Logan Paul recently stepped away from the boxing ring to visit the Pentagon. The controversial brothers appeared in a new official video released by the Department of Defense.
They used the short clip to deliver motivational speeches to members of the armed forces according to RawStory. The internet celebrities praised the troops for their willingness to fight and die for the country.
Logan Paul spoke directly to the service members about their legacy. He said, “I think it’s you guys who etch your name to history as you fight for and allow us in this country to have that freedom where we can prosper, be happy and be the great nation that we are.”
The timing of the visit immediately raised eyebrows. Just hours earlier, President Donald Trump threatened to blow up the entire nation of Iran, and reports suggest a ground invasion remains a real possibility.
Calls to enlist
Critics wasted no time tearing into the social media stars. Commentators from across the political spectrum blasted the brothers for acting tough while letting others do the actual fighting.
Grace Chong, a top executive for Steve Bannon’s WarRoom podcast, offered a blunt assessment on the social media platform X. She wrote, “They should enlist,” before adding, “All fake tough guy losers.”
Pop culture writer Carey O’Donnell agreed with that sentiment. He suggested the brothers should be sent straight to the frontline.
Journalist Molly Jong-Fast questioned whether the influencers were actually heading to Iran. She also mocked the current administration for being “Laser focused on everything but what the government is actually supposed to do.”
Online anger grows
The backlash extended beyond political circles and tapped into general internet frustration. Political commentator Jim Stewartson expressed serious alarm over the military leadership entertaining YouTube stars during a global crisis.
Stewartson shared his grim view with his massive following on X. He wrote, “This would be hilarious if it weren’t the most powerful kinetic force on the planet being led by christofascist manosphere dips…. who think grifting Youtubers vlogging from the Pentagon is something to celebrate.”
He finished his post with a stark conclusion. He added, “We are so f.”
Both brothers have built massive sports careers off their online fame, but sports experts constantly question their athletic credentials. Critics often accuse Jake of fighting carefully selected opponents and claim Logan receives unearned special treatment in the wrestling world.
