Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo or Brazilian Ronaldo Nazario? How does one ensure that people know which Ronaldo is being referred to?
It's certainly not a good idea to call one of them fat.
This was a lesson learned by Danish Viaplay host Peter Grønborg after he used just that term to describe the former Brazilian superstar during Wednesday's Champions League coverage.
"The fat Ronaldo. The slightly chubby Ronaldo, let's call him that," he said.
A comment that did not go unnoticed on media X.
"Did Peter Grønborg just say that on live TV...... shame on you"
Apologized shortly after
It didn't take long for the Viaplay Host to apologize.
"It was completely wrong of me. I apologize many times - not least to the 'real' Ronaldo," he writes.
Brazilian Ronaldo Nazario had a great career on the field, playing for clubs such as Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Inter Milan.
He was a world champion with Brazil in both 1994 and 2002, and he also won the Ballon d'Or twice.
His namesake from Portugal may not be able to call himself a double world champion, but he can boast of having won the Ballon d'Or five times.
