In the wake of a devastating attack on a hospital in Gaza that claimed over 500 lives, chaotic scenes unfolded outside the American embassy in Beirut. Angry demonstrators attempted to breach security barriers to enter the embassy premises.

According to Al-Jazeera, who were present at the scene, water cannons and tear gas were deployed against the protesters. Although not confirmed by the police, images from the location showed several demonstrators receiving medical treatment in ambulances.

The demonstration was fueled by an attack on a Gaza hospital on Tuesday evening. The attack resulted in at least 500 casualties, and the protesters were enraged by the United States' support for Israel in its conflict with Hamas.

Not just in Beirut, but also outside the French and British embassies in Tehran, Iran, and embassies in Lebanon, Iraq, Iran, Jordan, Turkey, and Morocco, demonstrators took to the streets. Thousands gathered outside the Israeli embassy in Amman, Jordan, to show their support for Gaza. According to Al-Jazeera's journalist in Amman, people continued to arrive even after midnight, including women and children. Police there also used tear gas and water cannons against the demonstrators.

Since Hamas attacked Israel on October 7, the Israeli military has responded by dropping thousands of bombs over Gaza. At least 3,000 are reported dead, and over 12,000 injured. Over 1,000 people are believed to be trapped under rubble, including 500 children.
