Ukraine has commenced the mass production of a new long-range kamikaze drone, akin to the Shahed, marking a significant advancement in the country's defense capabilities.

Oleksandr Kamyshin, the Head of the Ministry for Strategic Industries of Ukraine, made this announcement during a recent press conference.

Kamyshin highlighted that these developments have been in the pipeline since 2016 but hadn't been actualized until now. "We have kickstarted the series production of these drones. Presently, we are manufacturing dozens of them, and the plan is to ramp up significantly.

By next year, the Armed Forces could be equipped with over a thousand drones capable of covering distances exceeding 1000 kilometers," Kamyshin stated.

This move by Ukraine signals a robust response to the ongoing conflict and demonstrates the nation's resilience and innovation in military technology. The defense industry's capability to produce such a significant number of kamikaze drones underlines the strategic shift in Ukraine's approach to warfare.

In addition to the long-range kamikaze drones, Kamyshin also affirmed President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's earlier statement regarding the production of a million FPV drones next year.

This production scale is set to provide a substantial boost to Ukraine's aerial combat and reconnaissance capabilities.

The introduction of these drones into the Ukrainian military arsenal is expected to have a considerable impact on the dynamics of the ongoing conflict, potentially altering the balance of power in the region.
