On the night of May 17, Ukrainian forces successfully intercepted and destroyed all 20 enemy kamikaze drones launched towards the country.

These drones, identified as "Shahed-131/136" types, were deployed from the Primorsko-Akhtarsk and Kursk regions of Russia.

The operation involved fighter aircraft, anti-aircraft missile forces of the Air Force, mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces, and electronic warfare units.

This coordinated effort ensured that all 20 enemy drones were neutralized within the Kharkiv, Poltava, Vinnytsia, Odesa, and Mykolaiv regions.

Mykola Oleschuk, the commander of the Ukrainian Air Force, shared the successful outcome via Telegram.

"As a result of anti-aircraft combat, all 20 enemy Shaheds were shot down," Oleschuk confirmed.

The interception followed an air alert issued across several regions of Ukraine in anticipation of the drone attack.
