Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Valerii Zaluzhnyi has expressed a firm belief that the Russian aggression against Ukraine can only be halted by continuously escalating the losses of the Russian army.
In a recent briefing, Zaluzhnyi stated that it's challenging to predict the exact number of losses needed to stop the war, but emphasized the importance of persistent efforts until Russia ceases its military actions against Ukraine.
Zaluzhnyi highlighted the staggering scale of losses suffered by the Russian forces, noting that the battlefield is littered with increasing numbers of bodies, which are often left unclaimed. "What is happening on the contact line is mountains of bodies, no one is even trying to take them away.
There are more and more of them every day," he remarked, pointing out the Russian Federation's disregard for its own soldiers.
As of December 26, 2023, the estimated total combat losses of the Russian invaders since February 24, 2022, have reached approximately 354,960 personnel.
Zaluzhnyi’s comments underscore the heavy toll of the conflict and reflect the Ukrainian military's resolve to defend their nation against ongoing Russian aggression.
