The video, which quickly spread on social media on Friday, documents the moment of disruption as Russians participated in the presidential election, with the incumbent Vladimir Putin anticipated to secure a comfortable victory.

The Moscow Public Headquarters for Election Observation reported that the compromised ballot box was immediately sealed off, and voting resumed with the use of an alternative box.

The authorities have charged the woman under Article 141 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which pertains to obstructing the exercise of electoral rights or the functioning of election commissions.
