Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, the Democratic vice-presidential candidate, made a promise at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago on Wednesday: If Kamala Harris wins the presidency, her administration will deliver significant tax cuts for the middle class.
"If you belong to the middle class or are trying to become one, Kamala Harris will lower your taxes," Walz declared to applause from the delegates.
"This is the part to cut out and save and send to your undecided relatives so they know," Walz said as he listed his team's pledges.
According to Ukrinform's own correspondent, Walz also outlined other key pledges of the Harris campaign, including taking on big pharmaceutical companies to lower drug prices and making housing more affordable across the United States.
"No matter who you are, Kamala Harris will fight for your freedom to live the life you want," Walz assured the crowd. "Because that's what we want for ourselves, and that's what we want for our neighbors."
The Democratic National Convention, held in Chicago from August 19-22, is focused on officially nominating Kamala Harris as the party's presidential candidate.
On Wednesday, the third day of the convention, attendees heard from prominent figures like former President Bill Clinton, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, and iconic musician Stevie Wonder, who performed one of his classic hits.
