Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has issued a stark warning that Russia is preparing two forms of attack in the coming period.

Speaking on his way to a meeting of the European Political Community in Granada, Zelensky emphasized the importance of European unity in supporting Ukraine.

According to Ritzau, he stated that all countries in Europe, not just those in the EU, will be targeted by Russia with misinformation and fake news.

A Challenge for Europe

Zelensky's warning comes at a time when several European countries are either in the midst of election campaigns or preparing for them.

Additionally, an EU Parliament election is slated for next June, and polls suggest a shift to the right that could potentially affect support for Ukraine. "This is the biggest challenge we are facing," said Zelensky.

Ukraine's Defensive Needs

The Ukrainian president also highlighted another significant challenge for his country: building a defense shield before winter.

"In winter, Russia will attack with missiles and Iranian drones," he warned. While Ukraine's allies have been supplying the country with anti-aircraft systems like the American-made Patriot missile system, Zelensky indicated that more equipment is needed.

Concerns Over U.S. Support

Zelensky's visit comes amid growing concerns about whether the U.S. will scale down its military support for Ukraine.

Acting Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez assured that Ukraine would continue to receive support from the EU.

"We will support our friends in Ukraine until the end of the war," Sánchez said on his way to the meeting.

The Ukrainian president's warning has heightened concerns about the effectiveness of current security measures in place and the need for a unified European stance against Russian aggression.
