In the wake of a significant overnight offensive by Russian forces on Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has taken to social media to assert a defiant stance, promising a robust counter-response and an enhancement of the country's air defense capabilities.

During a night that saw the skies above Ukraine pierced by the unwelcome buzz of Russian drones and missiles,

President Zelenskyy assured the Ukrainian people and the international community that the country's defense posture would not only remain resilient but become more formidable. "We are aware that as winter approaches, Russian terrorists will try to cause more damage.

The President's statement came in response to a widespread attack that involved 38 Shahed drones and one Kh-59 guided air missile.

His gratitude was directed at the Ukrainian air defense units, who successfully neutralized 24 drones and a missile, showcasing their vigilance and precision.

The anti-aircraft gunners and mobile fire groups were particularly commended for their effective defense in ten Ukrainian regions, spanning from Kharkiv to Lviv.

Despite the onslaught, preliminary reports indicated that there were no casualties, with President Zelenskyy praising the sky defenders' effectiveness and the public's attentiveness which played a vital role in minimizing the impact of the attacks.

The aftermath of the hits is being dealt with, as President Zelenskyy acknowledged the strikes on Kharkiv and the Lviv region, among others, with the assurance that the consequences are currently being mitigated.
