They Move Out and Empty the Apartment, but Leave Their Dog Behind.

In the summer of 2023, in the south of France, a period often marked by pet abandonments due to holiday departures, some pet owners display even darker intentions.

This was the fate of Horka, a 4-year-old Malinois mix. As her owners moved out and emptied the apartment, they heartlessly left her behind, locked in the now empty dwelling.

Fortunately, firefighters rescued the beautiful dog, who was then taken in by the "Au petit bonheur de nos oubliés" Association.

Temporarily placed in a foster home, Horka is mending her broken heart and hopes to find a forever family that will never abandon her again.

Despite her recent betrayal, Horka remains affectionate and close to humans. She is loving and charming, showing a well-balanced character, although she can be a bit possessive of her humans. With her Malinois DNA, Horka is a quick learner, enthusiastic about new training. She knows some basic commands but needs to refine her recall and barking control. Being a bit sensitive, she can get carried away by her emotions and tends to vocalize.

Sociable with other dogs and children, Horka would be a joy for an active and committed family, ready to help her channel her energy, possibly with professional canine training.

She can live in an apartment as long as she is taken out regularly.

Currently, Horka is in a foster home in Manosque in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence (04) and is adoptable throughout the PACA region.
