Prince William has opened up about one of the most challenging years for his family in a special episode of Eugene Levy’s Apple TV+ series, The Reluctant Traveler, titled “Living the Royal Life in the UK.”

Touring London Like a Tourist

In a new clip from the episode, 78-year-old Eugene Levy is seen arriving in the U.K. and touring London on a double-decker bus, remarking, “Never felt more like a tourist.”

However, Levy receives a royal summons from Prince William himself to visit him at Windsor Castle.

“We provide this service for everyone,” William jokes as he leads Levy around the castle. “We do personalized tours everywhere.”

William and Kate share Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

A Difficult Year for the Royals

Over a pint at a local pub, William becomes candid about the past year, revealing that 2024 has been emotionally and personally taxing.

“I’d say ’23-’24 was the hardest year I’ve ever had,” he admits. “You know, life is sent to test us and being able to overcome that is what makes us who we are.”

After completing chemotherapy, she announced in January 2025 that she was in remission. She has since returned to many royal engagements and opened up about the realities of life after treatment.

“It’s not one smooth plane, which you expect it to be. But the reality is it’s not. You go through hard times,” Kate said during an appearance at an Essex hospital.

William Reflects on Family Resilience

Earlier in November 2024, while attending the Earthshot Prize in South Africa, William also shared his struggles:

“It’s been dreadful. It’s probably been the hardest year in my life. So, trying to get through everything else and keep everything on track has been really difficult. But I’m so proud of my wife, I’m proud of my father, for handling the things that they have done. From a personal family point of view, it’s been brutal.”

Balancing Royal Duties and Personal Challenges

The episode offers a rare glimpse of how William manages both his official responsibilities and personal life, combining candid reflections with lighter moments, such as guiding Levy around Windsor Castle and joking about the challenges of parenting.
