In a remarkable display of skill at the Mixed World Table Tennis Championships, French player Alexis Lebrun executed an astonishing feat by changing hands mid-rally to win a point against the Japanese team.

This move left spectators in awe during the group stage match on Tuesday, December 5, where Lebrun and his teammate Jianan Yuan faced off against the Japanese duo of Shunsuke Togami and Miwa Harimoto.

The match, characterized by its intense competition, saw both pairs evenly matched in the third set. It was at this crucial juncture that Lebrun, a young player from Montpellier, faced a challenging shot from Miwa Harimoto.

In an unexpected and impressive response, Lebrun switched hands, a move that caught both Shunsuke Togami and the spectators off guard. Togami's inability to return the ball secured an impressive point for the French side.

Despite this extraordinary point by Lebrun, the French team, ultimately faced a narrow defeat in a thrilling match conclusion (6-11, 11-6, 10-12).

The French team continued their pursuit of qualification against Romania later that day.
