The boxing community is in mourning after the shocking and brutal death of undefeated Russian fighter Abu Yusupov, who was fatally stabbed during a violent altercation at a Berlin train station on Tuesday. He was 39 years old.
Knife Attack at Berlin’s Gesundbrunnen Station
According to multiple German outlets, including Tagesspiegel, the incident took place at Gesundbrunnen station, where Yusupov became involved in a heated dispute with a group of unidentified individuals. The confrontation quickly escalated, and the Chechen-born boxer was reportedly stabbed in the neck with a knife.
Police officers attempted to resuscitate the fighter on the scene before paramedics transported him to a local hospital. Despite emergency efforts, Yusupov succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
The Berlin police have launched a full-scale investigation, though no arrests have been confirmed at the time of writing.
