Axelsen has worked with Henrik ‘PK’ Rohde since 2018
Hour after hour, they have stood on badminton courts around the world, though primarily in Denmark or Dubai.
Viktor Axelsen on one side of the net and Henrik ‘PK’ Rohde on the other. Player and coach. Son-in-law and father-in-law.
But now, the scope of that successful partnership, which began in 2018 and intensified in 2021 after the Olympic gold medalist left the national team setup and relocated to Dubai, is being reduced.
Henrik ‘PK’ Rohde is returning as head coach of the Danish league club Skovshoved, a position he previously held for more than a decade until 2020.

No New Coach Incoming
Instead, Peter Gade, whom Axelsen hired in November 2024, will take on a larger role going forward.
As things stand now, that’s how it’s going to be,” Axelsen told TV 2 Sport, adding:
“Whether it will be necessary to bring in additional support is still unclear at this point. But there’s no new coach on the way.
Although Henrik ‘PK’ Rohde’s number of working days will be significantly fewer, he remains available to support Axelsen whenever needed.
As of now, Viktor Axelsen is still recovering from a back surgery but hopes to be fit in time to compete at the World Championships in Paris at the end of August.
