In case you drop or forget your smartphone, it might be challenging for the finder to contact you. Most people opt to secure their smartphones with a password or facial recognition.

Fortunately, there’s a solution to this issue. This way, you can better secure yourself if your phone goes missing. However, it requires you to have an Android-based device.

This feature is quite simple to activate, as a message on the lock screen can make a difference in such scenarios.

How to Insert a Message on Your Phone’s Lock Screen

For this example, a OnePlus smartphone was used, but the method to access this setting is pretty much the same across all Android-based devices.

The first step is to access the phone’s settings and look for "Home Screen" or "Lock Screen."

Among the various available options, which vary depending on the model, there will be an option for "Lock Screen Message." By clicking here, a text box will appear where you need to enter the message.

You can write an alternative phone number to be easily contacted, add an email address, or information indicating to hand over your phone to the police. This can be ingenious if you forget your phone or drop it somewhere.

Then, just click OK. Once you’ve done this, the message will always be visible when your smartphone is locked. It means anyone can see this message, whether or not they have your code.
