"It's not every day you get to propose to your high school sweetheart." These were the words of filmmaker Lee Loechler when he was asked why he inserted himself and his girlfriend, Sthuthi David, into a fictitious screening of her all-time favorite Disney film, "Sleeping Beauty."

In a heartwarming tale of love and creativity, filmmaker Lee Loechler embarked on a six-month journey, collaborating with a talented Australian illustrator, to pull off one of the greatest marriage proposals of all time.

A clip of the enchanting proposal has resurfaced on Reddit, and it's already going viral again.

The enchanting proposal took place on December 30th at the Coolidge Corner Theatre in the couple's hometown of Brookline, Massachusetts.

The spark of inspiration for this extraordinary proposal ignited during a conversation with a close friend who was considering his own proposal. Interestingly, the concept was not a fit for Loechler's friend, but it proved to be the ideal choice for Loechler's grand romantic gesture.

How he did it

Lee Loechler's creative proposal began by signing up for the theater's email list to find inspiration from upcoming screenings. After receiving notifications, he crafted a fake screening announcement. He then sent this false email to Sthuthi David's mother, who excitedly invited them to the screening, including Loechler.

"Much to my delight, she called me a few days later and invited me to her own surprise proposal," Loechler said.

Therefore, he turned to the Boston subreddit, making a heartfelt request for volunteers to attend the special screening, promising attendees "a viewing of most of Sleeping Beauty," followed by a delightful feast and beverages to celebrate the occasion. His plea concluded with the enticing prospect of achieving a place in the annals of "We did it, Reddit!"
