John Krajewski was traveling with his dog, Sputnik, hoping for a smooth flight. He gave her a dog-safe sedative and crossed his fingers that she would sleep through most of the six-hour flight in the cargo hold.
Little did he know what was actually happening beneath his seat.
Upon landing, the airline staff got a huge surprise when they opened the cargo door. Instead of finding Sputnik safely secured in her crate, she was waiting for them at the door.
"She was just standing there, as if waiting for the red carpet," Krajewski shared on TikTok.
The great escape
Despite the sedatives, Sputnik stayed awake during the flight and managed to chew through the metal lock and zipper of her crate. She then roamed around the cargo hold.
No one knows how long she was wandering or how she managed to escape in the first place.
"She's acting like nothing happened and she's perfectly fine," Krajewski said.
He's just grateful that Sputnik is okay, while Sputnik clearly requests first-class treatment for her next flight.
