Kristin Bosly, a 41-year-old mother of two from Perth, Australia, had an epiphany that led her to a new beginning.

During a beach outing with her husband and children, she realized she had spent most of her life hating her body.

She asked her husband to take a photo of her with their children, a decision that would later become a viral sensation.

A new beginning

Kristin took to Facebook to share her newfound perspective, writing,

"Today marks a new beginning for me. For most of my life, I have hated my body. Despised it. Loathed it. Wished it would change. Be smaller and thinner. Less fat. I have used it and abused it. I have blamed it for many things."

The post that changed everything

Before the beach trip, Kristin saw a social media post encouraging parents to take photos with their children for the sake of memories. This struck a chord with her.

"I have avoided pictures mostly because I didn't like looking at them. No more! To hell with that noise! The truth is, I am tired of being ashamed of my body. It has done nothing but support me for 41 years," she wrote.

The decision on the beach

That day on the beach, Kristin made a choice.

"Today, I let go. I let go of my hatred and loathing for this body and chose instead to enjoy it. I asked my husband to take this photo so the kids can remember that we enjoyed the day together. With cellulite and all. Nothing covered up. No shorts. No towel. No filters. Just us. And you know what? I am not ashamed. Truly. I look at this photo, and all I can see is how happy we are. It's amazing. I finally feel free, and it feels amazing," she concluded her post.
