An 18-year-old American transformed his parents' garage into his first apartment and now wants to turn it into a business. In a series of TikTok videos, Lewis Tattersall (@lewistattersall._) from Sheffield shared the journey of the renovation.
One of his latest videos, which garnered over 4.2 million views, showcased the outcome of the project that includes a kitchen, double bed, and a marble-lined bathroom. The caption reads: "Everything was done by me according to building standards and went through planning."
He adds, "Anyone interested in converting their garage or something similar, I'm taking on jobs for the new year, so send me a message..."

To start the renovation, Lewis says he removed the old garage roof and replaced it with a new vaulted one. Then, he removed the gate and, with the help of a bricklayer, filled in the lower half and left the upper half open to serve as a window.
Next, he hired a plumber and an electrician to run pipes and wires through the floor. In another clip, Lewis revealed how he built beam walls, installed the kitchen and bathroom, and added wooden flooring. Once the renovation was completed, he added light fixtures, plants, a sofa bed, and other elements to make the space feel more like home.
