A 73-year-old woman found herself forgotten at a rest stop on the A96 highway near Wiedergeltingen in the Unterallgäu district in Germany.

According to Tag24, the incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The woman, along with her 67-year-old brother and his wife, had stopped at the rest area around 3 AM (Local time) during their journey from Bosnia to Switzerland. She went to the restroom, and upon returning, discovered that their car was gone.

A man called the police around 3:20 AM, reporting an "upset older lady without a jacket."

The woman, who did not know any phone numbers to contact her brother, was then taken to the police station.

Her brother, unaware that she had exited the vehicle, only realized she was missing shortly before reaching their destination in Zurich. He immediately returned to the rest stop to search for his sister, but she wasn't there anymore.

It was only after inquiring at the local police station that he was able to find her.

The siblings were reunited at the police station after approximately four hours and continued their journey together.

The story doesn't reveal whether there was any tension in the car, but perhaps the 73-year-old woman can expect an extra large Christmas gift from her brother this year?
