Yan Chenglong, a Chinese chess master, decided to celebrate his victory in an unusual way, leading to serious consequences.

After winning the national Xiangqi - also known as Chinese chess - tournament on December 17, defeating dozens of candidates to claim the title 'Xiangqi King' and a substantial cash prize, he faced a dramatic turn of events.

According to Hindustan Times, the 48-year-old had little time to bask in the glory of his success before the Chinese Xiangqi Association (CXA), the host of the popular event, announced that his title was being revoked and his prize taken away.

This decision came after Yan engaged in a bizarre act of defecating in the bathtub of his hotel room following a night of celebration with friends.

The CXA discovered the distasteful incident and stated that Yan had exhibited "extremely poor character" and "violated good morals."

According to the association, "Yan consumed alcohol with others in his room on the night of the 17th, and then defecated in the bathtub of the room he was staying in on the 18th, in an act that damaged the hotel's property, violated public order and good morals, had a negative impact on the competition and the event in Xiangqi, and was of extremely poor character."

The incident has not only cost Yan his title and prize but also damaged his reputation in the chess world.
